The National Alliance on Mental Illness is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI provides advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

Our mission is to provide workplaces with the tools and resources to support people’s mental well-being through expanding awareness, fostering a culture of caring, and improving access to support.

What is StigmaFree?


NAMI StigmaFree Workplace is a comprehensive initiative designed to promote mental health awareness, support, and community within organizations. We envision a StigmaFree future where every workplace prioritizes mental health and supports their employees. Through NAMI StigmaFree Workplace, we give our partners the tools and resources to support employees’ mental health in three areas: awareness, culture, and access.

Step One

AWARENESS

Raise awareness and educate employees and leadership with NAMI resources, presentations, and community connections with NAMI’s local affiliates and state organizations.

Step Two

CULTURE

Create a culture of caring by working with NAMI to promote workplace well-being through how-to resources for employees, managers, and leaders.

Step Three

ACCESS

Improve access to mental health support through high-level customized engagement with NAMI subject matter experts and with strategies for connecting employees with the support they need.
